Q&A with Maria Cristina Buccellati
1. Do you prefer a more classic style or an eclectic setup for festive tables?
I lean towards a classic style that embodies our artisanal heritage. Yet, I also appreciate the inclusion of eclectic elements to make the table feel unique and personal. To strike a harmonious balance between tradition and modernity, I frequently incorporate decorative silver pieces that enhance the elegance of a contemporary setup. This approach allows me to honor the past while creating a fresh and vibrant atmosphere.

Including a captivating centerpiece with floral arrangements is crucial, as it draws attention and visual enriches the overall setting. The quality of the tablecloths and embroidery is equally important, helping to create a warm and elegant atmosphere. Finally, we must not forget the cutlery and glassware, which should harmonize with the mood of the occasion.
4. What is the best way to integrate natural elements into a table setting?
I enjoy combining flowers and greenery with decorative elements that celebrate the beauty of nature. process begins with selecting a centerpiece, followed by incorporating flowers, fruits, and natur elements to create harmonious arrangements where silver beautifully complements the natural world. Lighting plays a vital role as well; by utilizing natural light whenever possible and enhancing it with candles, I achieve a soft glow that adds intimacy and warmth to the setting.

When setting a table, I aim to achieve the right balance among various elements to create a warm and inviting ambiance. Porcelain, for example, adds a touch of sophistication and serves as an ideal foundation for pairing with silver.
I don’t limit silver to cutlery and candlesticks; I also incorporate it into chargers and other decorative details, as it brings an instant air of timeless elegance. To infuse the setting with vibrancy, I love introducing pops of color through small Murano glass accents, which add lightness and a playful spirit, complemented by wooden elements that immediately warm the atmosphere. This thoughtful combination of materials and textures results in a richly layered yet harmonious table setting.
6. What details or personal touches can make a table truly memorable for guests?
One of my favorite personalized touches is the place holder, which, when accompanied by a small handwritten note, can significantly elevate the sense of welcome for guests. I also love incorporati family heirlooms or small handcrafted floral arrangements, as they not only tell a story but also create
emotional connection with those at the table. These thoughtful details truly transform the gathering into an unforgettable experience.
